Welcome Bon Trading Co.!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
You have now entered my list of "Manufacturers/Contractors*"
of coffee makers
 sold under the "Atomic" trademark!!!

Brevetti Robbiati (~1948-1983)
S.T.E.M.A.C. (1983-1989)
Stella (~1949-1974)
Szigony M.V. (~1948-2004)
A.&M.G.Sassoon (~1955-~1965)
Bon Trading Co. (~1999-????)

I understand now this trademark registration. At last!

*Excuse my bad english. I don't find a word for what i want to express. To my knowledge, only the Family Robbiati did manufacture the coffee machines themselves. The others were ordering other metal working companies to cast the machines exclusively for their business. Is Contractors the right word?

"The old lady does not tell"

I just stumbled over an article of the Süddeutsche Zeitung, one of the largest German daily newspaper.

You can visit the original text here:

I was amazed.
In Black and White.
What i knew but couldn't prove.
Because "the old lady does not tell"...

But here, "the old lady" might have talked too much:
(Google translation)

A NEW MANUFACTURER???

The coming back of the return of the Blue Box (Part 3)

The more i see the Box (link), the more it makes me tend to suppose it's a S.T.E.M.A.C.

No proof though.

But the Blue Box reappeared this time in Australia... and the coffee machine looked very modern.

Yet another exhibition about "Austrian Design"...

... and no mention of Desider Stern.

I look on my right side to my new acquisition.

Without doubt, something has to be done about it.

I know that "kind of love"!

Could someone greet Jonine Versace for me?
Maybe on the Chapel Street Bazaar Facebook page by linking this post?
(i don't do Facebook)

Challenge: Get David Francis to contact me!!!

As late as a few weeks ago, i stumbled over a Bon Trading coffee maker sold with a maintenance leaflet dating 2005 made by David Francis.
The email address is dead.

From what i can see on many websites around the world, many users would really benefit from his expertise.

Anyone has the leaflet? Or can get me in contact with Dave?
Thanks!

Confirm/Infirm: ECM Coffee museum Heidelberg, Germany ???

Fantastic Jug on this Stella 110E!

(I wrote to them - of course - but until now, no answer)

Indiana Jones and the last crusade (1989)

[Indiana slips and nearly falls into the abyss, but Henry grabs his hand]

Professor Henry Jones: Junior, give me your other hand! I can't hold on!
Indiana Jones: [reaching for the Grail] I can get it. I can almost reach it, Dad...
Professor Henry Jones: Indiana.

[surprised, Indy looks up at his father]

Professor Henry Jones: Indiana... let it go.

(coincidence: STEMAC closed its doors in 1989)

When a Swiss meets an Australian...

Consider this as an Addendum to the Post starting with "Dear readers,..."

The Pregnancy of this Blog took place while i faced a fierce opposition some years ago on an Australian Coffee Website.

One of my "methods" was to find statements that nobody can contradict...
... of course, by meeting the family members, or gathering documents... But also by stating facts.
By this, i mean: calling a cat, a cat.

Yes, "Atomic" is a trademark.
Yes, Giordano Robbiati patented (a little difference to "invented") a coffee maker for personal use.

The list could go on and on. and on.
These "Facts" fill most of the 1900+ posts of the last years.

Enough!
Let's come back to the mysterious title!

Imagine a Swiss meeting an Australian, this is what the Swiss would say:

"Fritz Lüdi-Zumstein invented the Culinor"

I dare any Australian to say the contrary!

Thank you Lucio for always putting a smile on my face!

1966 - 1983

I remember the time asking for information about an (not THE) Australian importer of Mr. Robbiati's coffee makers: lack of answers disguised in fake news is all i could get.

Until i discovered Cluster of Clues... while others were looking for The Truth!

Here, in this Flickr album, i gathered very similar adverts (yes, they are all different).

They date from 14.07.1966 to 03.11.1983.

(Click on the picture to be relinked to the Album)

What happened after 1983 in Australia after Giordano Robbiati stopped manufacturing these machines?

Irene Notaras

10 days ago... 30 years ago...

There would be so much to say about this picture...

What comes to my mind looking at this "Mona Lisa" smile:

17 March 1987 -  4 years after Giordano Robbiati's business (Brevetti Robbiati) was transferred to his son Alfredo Robbiati (S.T.E.M.A.C.).
17 March 1987 - 2 years before S.T.E.M.A.C. closed.

What that meant for this young lady?

POST-TRUTH

If POST-TRUTH is Oxford Dictionaries Word of the Year 2016,
then i am very looking forward to 2017.
It is going to be a promising year.

Happy New Year.
