"La Sorrentina" coffee machine - S.T.E.M.A.C. - Alfredo Robbiati, Milan

Not only did i meet the manufacturer - Alfredo Robbiati, i also bought the "La Sorrentina" coffee machine from its original owner!!!

... It is really sad BUT i have to make something clear ...

Something has to be said once and for all on my Blog:

I am only talking about historical machines... for me, historical means manufactured/marketed:

By Giordano Robbiati (Brevetti Robbiati) until 1983,
By Alfredo Robbiati (S.T.E.M.A.C.) until 1989,
By Desider Stern (Stella) until 1972-74,
By Imre Simon (Szigony Müszaki Vállalat) until 1977,
By Aubrey & Marion Gay Sassoon until 1965?
By Josef Tarditi until ?
etc.

The fact that a modern business imports machines made in Taiwan to sell it in Australia under the name "La Sorrentina" and claims these machines are called "Atomic" (or of "Atomic shape") thus using a already trademarked name for coffee makers from another australian business claiming these machines are still made in Milan area by the same manufacturers is
  HIGHLY CONFUSING!!!

The fact that one of these businesses is part of that history for many years doesn't make it easier.

-----------------------------------------

For me, it is fundamental to understand the history of these coffee machines to differentiate between  trademarks and patented inventions.

I must confess i wouldn't have found half of the stuff i shared on my Blog if i didn't realize this - for me - self-evident fact... backed up by my research and interviews with the families of the manufacturers.

-----------------------------------------

And now, let's talk about the Robbiati's singing swan, the one and only:

La Sorrentina
