"La Sorrentina" coffee machine - S.T.E.M.A.C. - Alfredo Robbiati, Milan

This coffee maker was a special order of the Hammacher Schlemmer store, New York to the S.T.E.M.A.C. company in Milan (1983-89), owned by Giordano Robbiati's son, Alfredo (born 1936).

My "La Sorrentina" was purchased over the famous catalogue for $79.95 plus shipping in 1984.

The original owner, who admitted only to have used the machine twice, remembered that it was sold in the category "The Best".

"This designation means that in side-by-side comparison testing of many similar products, this product demonstrates superior performance" (source here).
